Thinking about this road trip excites and inspires me. I've always been enamored by the way that things work, and this trip would be a little glimpse into that. While creating the trip, I realized that not only am I interested in the mechanical parts of engineering, but also civil engineering. Architecture has always been so beautiful to me, and a big part of why I love to travel. To see things that were created before we had things like cranes to do the lifting for us, that would just be amazing. This trip would not only have that, but also some of the people that helped to develop technology that got us to where we are today. Other stops on my trip also exemplify how the engineering of certain products are not only practical, but also creative and beautiful. Items like that of IKEA and Lego are planned, thought out, experimented with, but the average person doesn't think about that when they sit on the couch they purchased, or step on the Lego their kid left on the floor.

I would love to pursue a degree in engineering to help be a part of the amazing things that have come before me. Electricity, X-Ray, animatronics, furniture, cup-holders, toys, buildings, monuments, a simple bench. All of these things play into our daily lives, but no one stops to think about the gravity of them, where they came from, who thought them up. Each one of those things are a solution to a problem, and I love being a creative problem-solver. Hopefully this trip can help me work my way there.
